Hi all, I was going to email regardless of this questionaire. To thank you all for your hospitality which made for a great weekend. The Oak is the perfect accomodation for doggy people. Just twenty minutes from the NEC and a similar time to get to Ryton on Dunsmore. The rooms are adequate for a weekend or overnight stay. The staff couldn't have been pleasanter and the food was wonderful. Real value for money and we hope to stay there whenever we are in the area. Especially Crufts weekend.
To be critical the mattress was a bit soft for me. The generator a bit noisy and I would prefer the shower to be at head height. But i can cope with these imperfections because everything else was just right.
The breakfast was good
There is a very large TV but it was only put on in the morning for breakfast TV ,they have no sky TV.
Despite arriving late, (2 hours after kitchen closed) bar staff still managed to conjure up a great evening meal. Fantastically quiet night. I as doing flying training at Coventry airport so being 100 yds from the gates to the airport was ideal.
Not realy a dislike but I booked the disabled room because it was the cheapest rate BUT the room I got was far from suitable for the disabled so I assume that they gave me this room when they actually saw me at the reception. I had no complaints about the room but I did not experience a "disable room" so please take that into account when reading my review.
Clean, well furnished room and bathroom , in a separate building to the Pub on the same site, and thus very quiet.Excellent breakfast menu with good choice.
Bed matress on the cheap side and not very comfortable.Pub restuarant odours spoilt the otherwise excellent breakfast.Flat screen pub tv dominated the breakfast area and inhibited conversation and a slow awakening.
